Mary Catherine "Kate" Phillips of Warrenton passed away at her home on October 21, at the age of 92. Kate was born July 13, 1932 in St. Louis, to Lester and Ethel Sims nee Downs.
Kate married her highschool sweetheart Henry Phillips on November 24, 1951 and to this union 4 children were born, Karen Ann, Kenneth Bryan, Mary Kay, and Kittie Lee. Kate and Hank celebrated 69 years and 4 months together before his passing in 2021. Kate was a devoted member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Senior singles group, and Ladies of the Lake. She enjoyed square dancing, camping, and playing cards with her friends. She loved spending time with family, especially all her grandchildren.
Kate is survived by children Karen (Roger) Clarke, Kenneth (Beth) Phillips, Mary Kay (Bill) Laingen, Kittie Lee (Mike) Brewer; sister-in-law, Joyce Johnson; great-grandson, Roman; 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her Father, Lester Lee Sims, Mother, Ethel Sims, husband, Henry Phillips, grandson, Eric Harrison; and great-grandson, Roman. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A funeral will be held Saturday, November 9, at 11:30 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Warrenton. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Jefferson Barracks. Memorials can be made to the Diabetes Association or St. Vincent DePaul in care of Pitman Funeral Home .
