Warren County Commissioner injured in St. Charles County car accident

Posted

Warren County Commissioner Thomas Meyer, 70, of Marthasville was injured in a car accident in St. Charles County on Thursday afternoon.

Meyer was traveling west on Brandt Road at Route T when he failed to notice a fallen stop sign in the roadway. Meyer then traveled through the intersection into the path of Dennis Files, 81, of Wentzville, who was traveling south on Route T in the intersection.

Meyer attempted to stop but was unable to avoid the resulting collision according to the crash report. He struck the rear left side of Files’ vehicle, disabling both vehicles and pushing Files’ off the roadway. Meyer’s vehicle came to rest in the intersection blocking Glennstone Court.

Meyer received minor injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Washington by the St. Charles Ambulance District. He told the Record that while he was a little banged up he was “doing all right.” Files did not report any injuries.

Meyer’s and Files’ vehicles both received extensive damage and were towed from the scene by Patriots Towing and Budget Towing respectively.
