Wanda Lee Diermann

Mrs. Wanda Lee Diermann (nee: McCarty) of Marthasville, passed away on Saturday, June 15, at the New Haven Care Center. She was born on August 2, 1939 in Americus,  to the late Orie and Regina (nee: Stockhorst) McCarty. Wanda had reached the age of 84 years.

Wanda was united in marriage to Robert (Bob) Diermann on July 28, 1962 in O'Fallon.  She and Bob spent 61 wonderful years together. She enjoyed embroidery, quilting and going to the casino. Wanda was a homemaker, a wonderful cook and lovingly raised six children. When she was younger, she enjoyed going fishing and hunting with Bob. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They each held a special place in her heart. 

Wanda Diermann was preceded in death by her parents, Orie and Regina; one infant sister, Flora Mae;  her mother and father in law, Leonard and Luella Diermann; three brother in laws, Marvin Diermann, Wayne Diermann and Ronald Mergelmeyer. She is survived by her loving husband, Bob; her children, Dale Diermann and wife Elizabeth, Debbie Thomas and husband Bob, Scott Diermann and wife Susan, Sallie Diermann, Tim Diermann and wife Ava and Kelly Sida; 19 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two sisters, Donna Mergelmeyer and Cheryl Cline and husband Tom; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many close family friends.

Wanda's family will host a Celebration of her Life on Thursday, June 20, from 4 P.M. - 7 P.M. at Martin Funeral Home in Marthasville. Memorial donations are requested to be made to the Quilts of Valor or to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital in honor of Wanda Lee Diermann.
