Senior running back Austin Haas never gets tired of the feeling of scoring a touchdown.

“It’s great. It’s like a relief,” Haas said. “It’s like we scored and now we gotta keep it going.”

In Warrenton’s sixth straight win, the senior had a season-high of five touchdowns and 250 rushing yards to aid in the Warrior’s 47-13 victory over Holt.

Haas is no stranger to the end zone, having scored 17 touchdowns in just six games this season. However, he does not take all the glory.

“I give it all to my big boys. They work hard every week,” Haas said. “They open up holes and we have great game plans. We’re a lot smarter than last year, picking up more blocks and we’re a little faster.”

In addition to Haas, Brandon Johnson and Javon Jones also scored\ touchdowns. Jones reached the end zone after a two-yard dive, his first touchdown of the season. Johnson took off on a 62- yard run after a successful fake handoff.

Head Coach Jason Koper touted the offense and offensive line in Friday night’s win.

“Between Logan Nichols, Alex Wilson, Jack Morris, Chance Klasing, Kyle Lauck, Marcus Greene, just a tremendous job by those guys all year,” Koper said. “You can’t celebrate the line enough and we got to celebrate them
because they did one heck of a job.”

Koper went on to say that he thought this game was the best they have played offensively so far, and the team collectively is getting better every week.

Outside of games and practice, Koper credited the team’s dedication as a big part of their consistent play every week.

“As far as a young group of men, it’s the best I’ve ever been around, the best I’ve ever coached and not [because of] their play. They have all the skills and attributes on the field, but really it’s their dedication to be good students, to
watch film, to study, it’s a commitment,” Koper said.

For the second year in a row, the Warriors are now 6-0 and remain ranked in the top 10 for small schools in the St. Louis metro area.

Overall, Johnson completed nine passes for 114 yards and threw one two-point conversion to Austin White. White had 48 yards from four receptions. Jones rushed for one two-point conversion and rushed for 51 yards.

On defense, Kadin Stroer had one sack and 14 tackles. Keegan Mellegaard had eight tackles, while Cole Meyer and Jones each had seven.

Warrenton will travel to St. Charles this Friday to take on the Pirates at 7 p.m.
