Barbara “Barb” Rapp (Hutton) at the age of 72 passed away Friday September 20. Barbara was born April 11, 1952 in Oak Ridge Tennessee to Margaret and John Hutton.

Barb grew up in Oak Ridge where she made many lifelong friends and enjoyed swimming and lifeguarding. Barb was also part of a high school social club called the Penguins. Barb graduated from Oak Ridge high school in 1970 and went to college at the University of Tennessee and received her bachelor’s degree at the University. Barbara moved to St. Louis Missouri in 1975 to attend Washington University where she graduated with a master’s degree in social work. While doing an internship in graduate school she met Terry Rapp and they were married in 1977 and lived in Warrenton Missouri. Barb and Terry had two daughters, Sarah and Megan.

Barb enjoyed picking blackberries and making jellies and jams. Barb and Terry loved antiquing a hobby their two daughters did not share the love of. Barb loved watching the Tennessee Volunteers football and basketball teams although they broke her heart more often than not. Barb had a great love of music and listened to everything from Emmylou Harris to Nelly. She loved Emmylou so much, she named her cat after her. In her wishes after death, requested her daughter Sarah to take Emmylou and “treat her like a queen”. Barb loved spending time with her two grandchildren, Noah and Charlotte and watching them do the activities they loved.

Barbara is survived by her daughter Sarah Cline, son in law Jon Cline and her two grandchildren Noah and Charlotte Cline. Preceded in death are her parents Margaret and John Hutton, brother John Hutton, husband Terry Rapp and daughter Megan Rapp.
