A Wright City man has been charged with felony third-degree domestic assault in connection with an incident last week.
On Tuesday, Oct. 20, Mark J. Weiss II was allegedly involved in an argument with a family member that escalated into a physical confrontation. Weiss punched his family member in the face multiple times and choked him, according to a probable cause statement.
Following the incident, Weiss told Wright City police that he only restrained the other man and never struck him, but the victim had observable injuries consistent with his own version of events, according to the statement.
Weiss, born in 1984, was initially being held without bond at the Warren County Jail, although his bond was subsequently reduced to $10,000 cash only.
