Wright City relay sets school record

A Wright City relay team broke a school record for the second team in the span of two weeks. 

Kaden Cross, Jeremiah Davis, Blake Hogan and Devin Myers broke the school record in the 4x100-meter relay at the Orchard Farm Invite last week. The Wildcat runners won the event and set a school record with a time of 44.52 seconds. Kaedyn Johnson tied a school record in the pole vault competition. She placed fourth and finished with a height of 2.45 meters. 

Davis and Elizabeth Riggs both placed first in individual events. Davis won the 100-meter dash. He ran the race in 11.07 seconds. A returning state qualifier in the 300-meter hurdles, Riggs won the event with a time of 48.02. 

Wright City logged five second place finishes in the competition. Senior David Riggs placed second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:02.03. Isaiah Yoder placed second in the 1600-meter run. He finished the race with a time of 4:51.43. Wright City’s Sadie Sehnert placed second in the javelin competition. She threw the javelin 20.09 meters. The Wildcats also placed second in a pair of relay races. Davis, Hogan, Myers and David Riggs placed second in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:33.46. Lydia Clubb, Lindsay Pettus, Elizabeth Riggs and Teagen Riley placed second in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:31.94. The four runners also placed third in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:54.99. Noah Lamb placed third in the boys javelin competition. He threw the javelin 39.2 meters.
