A community Christmas event in Wright City, including the city’s annual Christmas parade, will be held on the evening of Dec. 1.
The newly named “Christmas Traditions” celebration will begin at 6 p.m. with a parade through downtown Wright City, starting at North First Street and ending at Diekroeger Park.
Immediately following will be a tree lighting ceremony to light up Diekroeger Park for the Christmas season. While they’re at the park, visitors will also get to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, write letters, do crafts, and roast s’mores over a bonfire while enjoying hot chocolate.
Event organizers also hope to have Christmas carolers at the park to help welcome in the holiday season.
The Christmas Traditions event is free and is hosted by the Wright City Parks and Recreation Department, the Wright City Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Wright City Fire Protection District.
