Wright City approves company to put on fireworks display

Posted

Wright City aldermen approved a contract with Arc Pyrotechnics Inc. to put on the city’s fireworks show.

During the discussion, Ward One Alderman Don Andrews questioned why the city had changed vendors.

City Attorney Paul Rost said a recommendation had come from the person who handles the local show.

“He was recommending to not use A&M that we used last year because they had changed their pricing and their way of doing it, and it would’ve compressed the show down significantly for the same amount,” Rost said. “So he recommended going with a different company that he also does business with.”

Andrews questioned if the city had a contract with A&M Pyrotechnics.

“You had a contract with A&M that had an option year for this year and next year to do the show for $7,000,” Rost said. “The $7,000 show wouldn’t have been the same show you got last year.”

Andrews then made a motion to pass the resolution. The resolution passed 6-0.
