Truesdale will be celebrating Christmas with a community event Dec. 2.
Truesdale’s Community Christmas is scheduled from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Mary Lou Center at 821 Market Street.
The event features a chili cook off, lighted Christmas parade, and a Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
The chili cook off is from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 and all proceeds benefit the police department’s Shop with a Cop program.
The event features five different awards. First, second, and third place overall will be recognized with prize money, including $250 for the overall winner. A trophy will be given to the winner of the people’s choice award, and a Christmas-themed prize will be awarded to the winner of the best decorated table competition.
The event also features free hot dogs, chips, hot cocoa, and cookies for those who attend.
A raffle for prizes including a 65-inch television and an XBox Series S game console is also included, with the drawing closing at the event at 7 p.m.
Belle, from “Beauty and the Beast,” Spiderman, and Elsa from “Frozen” will also make an appearance throughout the event.
