Three Warriors win events

Three Warrenton track and field athletes won events at competitions last week. 

The Warriors competed in both the Washington Nix Relays and the Ft. Zumwalt North Invite last week. 

At the Washington Nix Relays, Colton Brosenne was the lone Warrior to win an event. He placed first in the triple jump competition. He finished with a distance of 13.02 meters. The Warriors also placed second or third in multiple other competitions. The Warrenton girls 4x100-meter relay team of Isabelle Morris, Morgan Marschel, Evangeline Rhama and Kylie Overkamp placed second. They finished the race in 53.06. Avery Shaw placed third in the shot put competition. She threw the shot 10.3 meters. Two Warrenton boys relay teams also brought home third place finishes. The Warrenton 4x100 and 4x200-meter relay teams comprised of Zachariah Bristol, Peyton Dawson, Anthony Lombardo and Brosenne placed third. They finished the 4x100-meter relay in 45.11 and the 4x200-meter relay in 1:36.18. 

The Warriors brought home a pair of first place finishes at the Ft. Zumwalt North Invite. Wyatt Claiborne placed first in the 3200-meter run with a time of 10:12.37. Morgan Marschel brought home a first place finish for the Lady Warriors. She placed first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.76. 

The Warriors brought home three second place finishes. Madelyn Marschel and Shelby Sommer both placed second for the Lady Warriors. Marschel finished second in the 800-meter run. She finished the race in 2:30.34. Sommer finished second in the 3200-meter run with a time of 12:29.33. Warrenton’s Phillip Kackley finished second in the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:43.36. 

Warrenton took home six third place finishes in the competition. Brosenne placed third in the triple jump with a distance of 12.65 meters. Shaw placed third in the shot put. She threw the shot 10.04 meters. Warrenton also placed third in four relays. Bristol, Brosenne, Dawson and Lombardo placed third in two relays. They ran the 4x100-meter relay in 45.94 and the 4x200-meter relay in 1:35.24. The Lady Warriors also placed third in a pair of relays. Madelyn Marschel, Isabelle Morris, Kylie Overkamp and Evangeline Rhama placed third in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 53.43. Morris, Rhama, Madelyn Marschel and Morgan Marschel placed third in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:25.84.
