Wright City athletes earn all-conference honors

The Wright City boys track and field team used five first place finishes to place second as a team at the Eastern Missouri conference meet Tuesday. 

Wright City earned 110 team points to earn a runner-up finish in the conference. Five Wright City athletes won at least one event to earn all-conference honors. Senior Jeremiah Davis set the school record in the 100-meter dash and 400-meter dash. He also won the 200-meter dash and was part of the first place 4x200-meter relay team. Davis ran the 100-meter dash in 10.84 seconds and the 4x400-meter dash in 51.27 seconds. Davis also won the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.78 seconds. Davis teamed up with Blake Hogan, Devin Myers and David Riggs to win the 4x200-meter relay. They finished with a time of 1:34.03. Isaiah Yoder won the 3200-meter run to earn all-conference honors. He ran the 3200-meter run in 10:42.92. 

Wright City’s Lydia Clubb and Elizabeth Riggs each won one individual event and a pair of relays to help the Wright City girls track and field team to a fifth place team finish. Clubb broke the school record in the 100-meter dash. She won the event with a time of 12.70 seconds. Riggs won the 300-meter hurdle event with a time of 47.98 seconds. Clubb and Riggs teamed up with Lindsay Pettus and Teagen Riley to win the 4x100-meter relay and 4x400-meter relay. They ran the 4x100-meter relay in 53.62 seconds. They ran the 4x400-meter relay in 4:29.76. Clubb, Pettus, Riggs and Riley placed second in the 4x200-meter relay. Kaedyn Johnson placed second in the pole vault to earn all-conference honors, which were awarded to the first and second place finishers at the conference meet. Johnson’s mark was 8 feet, 6 inches, a school record.
