Adam Frederick, 31, of O'Fallon, Mo., was charged with several crimes in connection to a domestic incident that ocurred on Saturday, Oct. 12.
According to the probable cause statement, Warren County Sheriff's Deputy Isaiah Weible responded to a report of an individual trespassing and attemtping to break into a residence in Warren County.
One of the victims had also reportedly retrieved a firearm from inside the house, stating they feared for their lives.
When Weible arrived, Frederick was in the garage and holding a dog he had said he planned to harm. The dog was removed from his possession and upon further questioning, Weible observed that Frederick appeared to be intoxicated.
He said his parents had told him to leave the residence and locked him out.
Frederick said he was waiting on a ride from Illinois when officers arrived and the confrontation became adversarial. Sergeant Jason Maskey had arrived on the scene and said during his conversation with Frederick, Frederick shoved him and was subsequently placed under arrest.
The two victims advised officers they were celebrating a family birthday when Frederick grew upset and shoved his face in a cake. The family then told him to leave and locked the door. Frederick then reportedly began throwing pots outside and slamming on the door, leading victim two to retrieve the firearm.
Frederick is being held without bond due to a previous charge for failure to appear. In Weible's probable cause statement he also listed a number of prior convictions on Frederick's record. These included but were not limited to possession of a controlled substance, theft and endangering the life of a child. He is also on probation in St. Clair County for aggravated battery.
Frederick was charged with resisting or interfering with an arrest for a felony and domestic assault in the fourth degree on the third or subsequent offense, both felonies, along with assault in the fourth degree toward special victims, a misdemeanor.
