Marjorie F. Taylor, 102, of Jonesburg, passed away Friday, May 26, at StoneBridge Hermann.

Marjorie was born in Jonesburg on June 10, 1920, the daughter of the late Noel Bryon & Mary Edna (Thurman) Bolton.  She was one of nine children, four boys and five girls.

Marjorie was baptized at the age of 13 in the Jonesburg Christian Church, where she later taught Sunday School for over 30 years. She married Harold Taylor on March 13, 1942.  Harold preceded her in death on February 25, 2007.  Harold served our country in World War II and it was during that time that Marjorie worked during the week for a printing company in St. Louis and came back to Jonesburg on weekends to work at her father’s grocery store.  When Harold returned from the service they made their home in Jonesburg. Margie was an Avon representative for over 60 years. She enjoyed all her customers and watching their families grow.  Some of her favorite hobbies include playing Canasta & Bingo, reading, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, and cooking for her family.

Marjorie is survived by a son, David Taylor & special friend Carla Meyer, of Jonesburg; two very special grandsons, Eric Taylor & wife Kristen, of Columbia and Scott Taylor, of Tebbetts; great-grandsons, Rex & Beaux, of Columbia; one brother, Dale Bolton, of St. Charles; two sisters-in-law, Doris Bolton and Betty Bolton, one brother-in-law, John Mazanec, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, four sisters, Janette Mazanec, Ruby (George) Ludy, Dorothy (Marvin) Polston, Wilma (Jack) Kemry, and three brothers, Byron, Wilford & Leroy Bolton.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 2nd from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Jonesburg Christian Church, where funeral services will follow at 11 a.m., with Rev. Don Deeker officiating. Burial will be at Jonesburg Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Jonesburg Christian Church.
