Luetkemeyer visits local memorial

Posted

United States Representative Blaine Luetkemeyer recently visited Warren County and met with veterans to discuss important issues to take back to Washington.

Luetkemeyer visited the Tribute to Veterans Memorial last Thursday. Luetkemeyer said issues raised during the visit included concerns about the military getting involved in other military activities and situations individual to specific veterans.

“You listen to constituents and take those concerns back,” Luetkemeyer said. “Whether that’s a problem you can solve or if they’ve got an issue that’s personal, that is something we need to work on. Nothing different here today. We’ve got some of the same kind of issues and we’ll take them back and see if we can work on them and find some solutions.”

Luetkemeyer spoke highly of the Tribute to Veterans Memorial, located on West Veterans Memorial Parkway in Warrenton. Luetkemeyer noted he passes the memorial every week when he heads to the airport.

“Why do you want to memorialize veterans like this,” Luetkemeyer said. “I always say it’s a reminder of what other people have done to be able to give you what you have today. That’s what the word memorial means. It memorializes their efforts. I think if you understand what that means, this is a good place to sit and contemplate and think.”
