To the Editor,
The solar power information meeting last Thursday had two options; attend in person or Zoom call online. The meeting was to be held at the middle school gym, I guess due to the possibility of a large crowd showing up.
My wife and I chose the Zoom call. We logged into the call, prepared to listen, and ask questions if necessary. The call started at 6 p.m. At 6:10, we finally got some audio that was muffled, echoing, and completely undecipherable. The people running the computer for the call kept trying to adjust but we lost all audio about 6:20. By 6:25, we’d had enough and hung up.
The little bit of audio we did get and could understand, seemed to indicate that those present in the gym were having a hard time hearing and understanding too. It was a frustrating, wasted 30 minutes of nothing.
I would hope that there would either be a transcript of what was said, published in this paper, or another meeting held in another, smaller location to eliminate the echoing and muffled voices, and some pre-testing done to make sure the Zoom call, if offered, works!
I’m very interested in finding out what the plans are for this project in this area since I live here. I’d rather this didn’t turn into another Sunnyside Road fiasco, having this project shoved down our throats without any information or choice in what might be happening.
