To The Editor,
It’s no secret we live in a predominantly Republican community. That being said, Democrats live here too. I write this with the expectation of our voices being heard as well.
The state of our nation is in shambles. We are dealing with folks who have no desire for bipartisanship. We are dealing with a former president who did nothing more than divide our country. We are dealing with extremist views/actions that are absurd. It astounds me that people hear a “rumor” created by the likes of QAnon, and run with it; spreading absolute lies and brainwashing people. It astounds me that relationships between family and friends are being damaged because of such passionate and ridiculous beliefs.
Our nation’s Capitol was stormed by these very people, and it seems local citizens see nothing wrong with that. (Instead, it’s blamed on Antifa or whoever.) We are praising the likes of Josh Hawley, Ted Cruz, and more for supporting these violent acts. I can’t even wrap my head around it!
I do not like arguing nor confrontation, but it’s difficult to remain silent when we as a nation are turning on each other because of these insane beliefs and disrespect to others who don’t agree.
There is no perfect politician. However, we should always pray for the success of our leaders. I believe Trump was a narcissistic, poorly spoken, and unqualified man to lead our country. He was an authoritarian and it frightened me to the core. I did not wish failure on him, though. Biden is not perfect by any means, but he doesn’t make me feel threatened or anxious about the next four years.
My point? Quit freaking out that “they’re out to take your guns,” and if you truly believe Biden is a pedophile that is in cahoots with a child trafficking ring, you need to do some research other than what the “Q’s” believe and post.
Have some respect for your fellow Americans that may not share your views.
Don’t believe everything you hear just because Joe Smith down the road told you so. Have we forgotten how to think for ourselves?
God Bless, and I pray for healing of our country as a whole.
