Mr. Larry Dean Barton of Wellsville, MO, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022, in Columbia, MO. He was born on March 15, 1947, in Wright City, MO, to the late Willis and Lydia (nee: Smith) Barton. Larry had reached the age of 75 years.
Larry worked in the lumber trucking industry for many years. He was a member of Warrenton Community Church in Warrenton, MO. Larry was united in marriage to Nancy Crites on October 17, 2006, in Warrenton. Larry loved riding his motorcycle, going to car shows, bike shows and drag racing. He also loved to spend time at his cabin in Cabool. He was a sports fan, enjoying softball, volleyball and basketball. Larry also enjoyed a relaxing evening in the front yard, sitting under the shade tree or cutting his grass.
Larry Barton was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Lydia; six siblings, Daphine Shepard, Elouise Henderson, Norman Barton, Ova Barton, Billy Barton, and Bobby Barton; two grandchildren, Malakai Jordon and Mason Harlen. Those who are grateful for the time spent with Larry are his loving wife; Nancy, two children; Tracy Barton (Harry) and Lesley Graf (Calvin); step-children, Danelle Doom (Stephen), Jessica Prendergast, and Barbara Prendergast (Don), several grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; five siblings; Wilma Kelling (Pat), Ronald Barton (Suzie), Virgil Barton (Anna), Geneva Reel (John), and Louise Reel (Sam); sister-in-law, Glenda Soltvedt (Scott), nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
We will celebrate the life of Larry Dean Barton on Friday, June 3, 2022, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Warrenton Community Church, 33355 North State Highway 47, Warrenton, MO 63383.
