The Wright City Lady Wildcat runners placed first as a team at the Clopton Hamburger meet Monday.
Wright City was led by Adalyn Ferrell, who placed second with a time of 24:24. Lindsay Pettus also logged a top-five finish. She finished fifth with a time of 25:36. Liliana Wiedemeier finished 14 seconds behind Pettus and placed seventh. Melinda Green and Dakota Dalton placed 16th and 17th.
Freshman Matthew Johnston placed fourth to lead all Wright City boys runners. He finished the race in 20:33. Cade Hornberger placed 16th with a time of 23:26. Jacob Reash placed 21st. He finished with a time of 31:16.
Wildcats compete at Mike Spoede Invitational
The Wright City girls cross country team placed fourth at the Mike Spoede Invitational. They were led by freshman Adalyn Ferrell, who placed 15th with a time of 24:25. Lindsay Pettus and Liliana Wiedemeier placed 22nd and 23rd. Pettus finished the race in 27 minutes. Wiedemeier ran a time of 27:18. Melinda Green and Charleigh Ferrell also logged counting times for Wright City.
Johnston logged the top finish among the Wright City boys runners. He placed 32nd with a time of 20:43. Reash also competed for the Wildcats. He placed 56th.
