The Liberty Christian Lady Eagles outscored Christian Fellowship 39-12 in the middle quarters of Friday’s home win.

Liberty Christian (11-1) beat Christian Fellowship 56-31 Friday to remain unbeaten at home this season. The Lady Eagles have won seven consecutive games.

After holding a slim 11-7 lead after one quarter, Liberty Christian outscored Christian Fellowship 16-4 in the second quarter and 23-8 in the third quarter.

“We had a lot of girls out sick last week. We just didn’t get much practice the last 10 days,” Liberty Christian Academy basketball coach Butch Clark said. “We had a couple this week. But we’re not where we need to be. Our shooting is not very crisp. We missed a ton of free throws tonight. But that comes from not being in the gym.”

Senior Alli Meyer led Liberty Christian with a double-double. She finished with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Anna Meyer and Lauren Moss also finished with double figures for the Lady Eagles. Meyer finished the game with 13 points, while Moss had 10 points. Kylee Ball secured 12 rebounds for the Lady Eagles.

“We’re just not crisp right now,” Clark said. “I think they will be. They’re getting there. We’re undersized too, so we’re still trying to figure out how to play without some of the kids we’ve had over four years. I think overall, they’re doing a pretty good job.”

Clark noted the Lady Eagles played without three starters in their 43-11 win over Thomas Jefferson School earlier this month. They earned a 39-26 win over Legacy Academy with their starters back. Clark noted the three starters did not practice earlier in the week prior to the game against Legacy Academy.

Liberty Christian was scheduled to play at Wellsville-Middletown Tuesday. They will play at Elsberry Dec. 29.
