The Liberty Christian and Wright City girls basketball teams extended early season winning streaks with wins earlier this week.
Liberty Christian (8-1) beat Thomas Jefferson School 43-11 Monday to win their fourth consecutive game for the second time this season. Sophomore Hannah Steward led the Lady Eagle offensive attack with 18 points. She also led the Lady Eagles with 14 steals. Senior Kylee Ball scored 14 points and led Liberty Christian with 12 rebounds.
The win followed a 54-21 win over Eagle Ridge Christian last Friday. The Lady Eagles jumped out to a 30-7 halftime lead in the win. Lauren Moss led the Lady Eagles with 16 points. Anna Meyer and Kylee Ball also reached double figures in the win. Meyer scored 14 points, while Ball finished with 11 points. Ball led Liberty Christian with nine rebounds. Alli Meyer finished the game with a team-high 10 assists.
Wright City remains unbeaten
The Wright City Lady Wildcats notched a road win over North Point Monday to win their third consecutive game to start the season.
Wright City (3-0) beat North Point 54-43 to earn their third win of the season. Wright City led 17-6 after the first quarter and 26-11 at halftime.
Wright City earned a win over Normandy last week in their home opener. They were scheduled to host Valley Park Dec. 7. They will host Winfield at 7 p.m. Friday.
Warriors notch win at Winfield Tournament
The Warrenton boys basketball team notched one win in three games at the Winfield Tournament last week.
Warrenton (2-3) beat Ft. Zumwalt East 55-44 in their second game of the tournament. Warrenton dropped their opening game of the game of the tournament 54-41 to Winfield. They fell to Hannibal 50-47 in their final game of the tournament.
Warrenton was scheduled to play St. Charles Tuesday. They will host Union a 7 p.m. Friday and North Point at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Eagles drop pair
The Liberty Christian Academy boys basketball team dropped a pair of games within the last week.
Liberty Christian (2-7) fell to Eagle Ridge Christian 45-34 last week. Zach Dames finished with 13 points. Willie Mueller hauled in 10 rebounds.
The Eagles fell to Thomas Jefferson School 64-44 Monday. Dames led the Eagles with 20 points. Mueller added 14 points and nine rebounds in the loss.
