Innsbrook Board announces candidates for open trustee position

Posted

During the June 11 meeting, Innsbrook Board of Trustees Chairman Dan Reuter announced that they received two applications for the open trustee seat before the deadline on May 31.

The two community members who applied were Virgal Woolfolk and Cynthia Bowers.

Reuter said the board would look to make a decision on the new trustee by the end of the month, and would reach out to candidates when a decision has been made. The seat was vacated by Mike Lyles, who took office following the April 2 election and resigned shortly after his first meeting.

That decision rests solely with the board of trustees, per the village ordinances. They have the power to review and appoint a new trustee in the event a board seat is vacated.

Woolfolk had also ran for one of the open seats on the board during that election and received 67 votes, falling short of current Trustee Donna West who received 116 votes and Lyles who received 101 votes.

Woolfolk said that he was not sure what the outcome would be, but that he felt he was equipped with the tools to do the job.

“I’ll just see what happens next, I think I’m the most qualified candidate,” Woolfolk said.

Bowers has previously served as a trustee and although she chose not to run at the end of her previous term she submitted an application for the open seat this year.

On her application, Bowers said she wanted to “provide support and contribute to the community.”

Bowers could not be reached for comment.

Rueter said the board plans to announce its new member by the end of the month.
