Hubert Lester Newman, of Warrenton, went to be with the Lord Saturday, July 1. He was born on January 15, 1934. He was 89 and a half years old.
He had many jobs but the most rewarding was when he surrendered to the Lord and served Him as pastor and served Higbee Baptist, Higbee, Moscow Mills Baptist Church, Faith Baptist Montgomery City, Dardenne Baptist, O’Fallon, and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and would fill in. He was a very faithful man and loved his family.
Hubert is survived by the love of his life of 70 years, Marlene (Marsh) Newman. His 3 sons, Hubert Jr. (Sally), Gary (Charlene), and Brian Newman; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; 1 sister; Esther Swofford; sister-in-law, Dolly (Marsh) Newman; brothers-in-law, Larry Marsh and Richard Grange. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Esther Newman; brothers, Albert, Robert, Elbert, Hobert, and Herbert Newman; brothers-in-law, Gene Blank; sisters-in-law, Lilly Blank and Gloria Jean LaGrange. Hubert was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A visitation is set for Monday, July 10 from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. at Baue Funeral Home in St. Charles. The Funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Memorials may be made in Hubert's name to Missouri Baptists Children's Home or to Fellowship Baptist Church in Warrenton.
