Liberty Christian Academy held a six-point lead after three quarters but fell to Wellsville-Middletown last week.
Wellsville-Middletown topped Liberty Christian (11-2) 55-47. Liberty Christian jumped out to a 13-8 lead after one quarter and led 24-22 at halftime. Liberty Christian outscored Wellsville-Middletown 13-9 in the third quarter to take a 37-31 lead into the fourth quarter. The Tigers outscored Liberty Christian 24-10 in the fourth quarter to earn the eight-point win. The loss snapped Liberty Christian’s seven-game winning streak.
Senior Anna Meyer accounted for over half of the scoring for the Lady Eagles. Meyer finished the game with 28 points. She connected on four three-pointers and six free throws in the loss. Kylee Ball and Lauren Moss finished tied for second among all Lady Eagles with six points. Alli Meyer added five points. Meyer and Ball accounted for all but two of the Lady Eagles’ rebounds. Meyer secured 23 rebounds. She also led the Lady Eagles with four assists. Ball added 12 rebounds.
Liberty Christian is slated to play at Elsberry Thursday.
