Father Donald Anthony Glastetter, known to most as Fr. Don, of Washington, departed this life in Pacific, on July 20, having reached the age of eighty-three years, seven months and five days. Father Donald was born in Overland, on December 15, 1939, son of Anthony Glastetter and Frances Glastetter nee Elfrank.

Father Donald is survived by two brothers, Bill Glastetter of St. Charles, and Ron Glastetter of Washington; by nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Father Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Frances Glastetter; by three brothers, Robert Glastetter, Edward Glastetter and Melvin Glastetter; and by his sisters, Joan Sprick, Elsie Pottebaum and Eleanor Heggemann.

Father Don first parish was at St. Francis Desales is St. Louis, from there he went to St. George Catholic Church, also in St. Louis. After St. George, Fr. Don spent 5 years ministering in Bolivia before he was brought to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church back in St. Louis. From there he went to St. Sabina Catholic Church in Florissant, and then back to Bolivia for another 5 years. Once Fr. Don returned, he was at St. Andrews Catholic Church in St. Louis and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Wentzville, before he made it to his final parish, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Washington, where he retired from. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed collecting coins and stamps. What meant most to him was the love and fellowship he shared with his Lord, family, friends and parishioners.

A kind and loving brother, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial mass will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, July 28, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Washington, with Fr. Jim Theby officiating. A private committal will take place at a later date. Masses are preferred.
