A Truxton woman is accused of driving while intoxicated in a fatal crash that occurred March 11 in southwestern Warren County.

Cherysse Tucker was taken into custody and charged following the crash. A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper reported Tucker had a strong odor of alcohol, bloodshot and watery eyes, and failed field sobriety tests, according to a probable cause statement. The trooper also noted Tucker refused to submit to a breathalyzer.

The crash occurred at 11:40 p.m. on Masas Creek North north of Trinity Ranch Lane. The patrol’s preliminary investigation found that Tucker was driving a UTV too fast on a gravel road. The UTV traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck several trees, causing it to overturn. A passenger, Geoffrey Wiss of Jonesburg, was ejected from the UTV and  pronounced dead at the scene.
