Diana K. Smithey, age 71, of Gravois Mills, Missouri, passed away Sunday, April 7, at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles. She was born July 5, 1952, in St. Charles, daughter of the late Dale and Bernice (Dillon) Freand.
She graduated from Francis Howell High School in St. Louis. Diana worked as a business manager and beautician for many years until her retirement. Her favorite hobbies included going to thrift shops, home cooked meals and fishing. Diana was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Her best times were spent with family and she treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Diana is survived by her daughter, Victoria Peck and husband Andreas of the home; grandchildren, Maylee K. McKenna, Elora L. McKenna, Avionna J. Peck, Charlie J. Peck and Benjamin L. Peck; half-sisters, Shiela Smithey and Crystal Martin and many other relatives and friends.
A private family celebration of Diana’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home to assist the family with expenses. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel.
