Darlene Rose "Our Dolly" Charboneauu

Mrs. Darlene Rose (nee: Bassler) Charboneau of Warrenton, passed away on Thursday, March 16. She was born on July 30, 1936, in St. Louis, to the late Joseph and Hazel (nee: Maxey) Bassler. Darlene had reached the age of 86 years.

Darlene was united in marriage to the late Louis Edward Charboneau on January 14, 1956, in St. Louis. They enjoyed 65 wonderful years together before his passing in 2021. This union was blessed with five children. Darlene enjoyed caring for her husband and her children. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, doing other crafts, growing her flowers, and working in the garden. She enjoyed shopping with her daughters and friends and also spent some time on "the boat". One of her greatest joys came from the traditional "Sunday Dinners" with her family. Darlene was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; her parents, Joseph and Hazel; one son, Louis J Charboneau; one brother, Victor Bassler; mother-in-law, Theresa Boucher. Those family members who will remain grateful for having shared in Darlene's life are her children, Diana Wozniak and husband Michael, Sandra Smyth and husband Robert Michael, Michelle Charboneau, Theresa Thompson; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph Bassler, and wife Tot; other relatives and many friends.

We will honor Darlene's life on Monday, March 20, from 4 P.M. - 7 P.M. at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton. We will also celebrate her life on Tuesday, March 21, at 10 A.M., with Pastor Steven Kohler officiating, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Warrenton City Cemetery. Memorial donations made in honor of Darlene Charboneau are suggested to the American Heart Association, c/o Martin Funeral Home.
