Mrs. Carol Sue Shepard (nee: Smith) of Warrenton, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, at her home, after a short illness. She was born on April 19, 1947, in Jonesburg, to the late Richard Ray (Pee-Wee) and Evelyn May (nee: Cameron) Smith. Carol had reached the age of 76.
Carol was united in marriage to Micheal Ray Shepard on September 4, 1965, in Jonesburg. This union was blessed with one son, Scott. They celebrated 56 wonderful years together before Mike's passing in 2021. Carol loved to have fun. She always had a smile and a laugh when she greeted you. She had a big personality and an even bigger heart. She and Mike followed the New Country Addition Band and they thoroughly enjoyed dancing together. Carol was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family deeply and her greatest joy came from caring for them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love and passion for life will be missed greatly by her family.
Carol Sue Shepard was preceded in death by her wonderful husband, Mike; her parents, Richard and Evelyn. Surviving family members include her son, Scott Shepard, and wife Molly, two granddaughters, Allyssa Orcino and Tiffany Harrell and husband Kory; two great-granddaughters, Ember Jo and Riverlynn; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and close family friends.
The family will host a celebration of Carol's life on Tuesday, May 30, at Martin Funeral Home from 5 P.M. - 8 P.M. On Wednesday, May 31, they will honor Carol with a funeral service beginning at 10 A.M., also at the funeral home. A burial will follow at the Warrenton City Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to be given to the American Kidney Foundation c/o Martin Funeral Home.
