Turning Point hosting virtual fundraiser

Turning Point Advocacy Services will hold a virtual fundraising event and auction, “Boots ‘n Bling – While Distancing” April 16-20. Sponsorships for businesses are available, and community members are invited to participate by donating funds or items for the virtual silent auction including gift cards, gift baskets, tickets, collectibles and sports memorabilia.

“Boots ‘n Bling is a Turning Point tradition and our single largest fundraiser,” said Linda Buschman, executive director of Turning Point Advocacy Services. “Although this year’s event will be virtual due to Covid-19, we are working hard to make it a fun, memorable time. We welcome everyone to join the fun. They can see our silent auction items and learn more about how they can help combat domestic violence in the weeks leading up to the auction.”

“Domestic violence has increased by over 8 percent during the pandemic,” said Tim Churchill, board chair. “Turning Point’s services are needed and more in demand than ever and we need our community’s support.”

More information about how to participate in the virtual event is available on Turning Point’s Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/TurningPointWMO, or by visiting www.turningpointdvs.com/home/events.

Turning Point’s mission is to provide avenues to justice while providing safety, shelter and stabilizing support to survivors of violence and abuse.

Based in Warrenton, Turning Point also provides a 24/7 hotline, counseling and court advocacy services to assist those impacted by domestic and sexual violence.
