Scouts change food collection this year

Due to rising COVID numbers, the Boy Scouts of America Greater St. Louis Area Council has canceled this year’s door to door food collection program.

Due to this change, Marthasville Cub Scout Pack 359 is teaming up with several businesses, schools, and churches in their communities to set out collection bins for the Southern Warren County Food Pantry. Please consider dropping off non-perishable food items at one of the following locations:

In the Marthasville area, collection points are located at S & R Convenience Center, K & R Food Market, and Cori’s Twin Gables.

In the Augusta area, there are collection points at the Lake Sherwood mail center, Augusta Shores’ Berg House, the vestibule at the Augusta Visitors Center, Augusta Elementary, and under the dining hall porch at Bethany UCC in Schluersburg.

Scouts will take the donated food to the Southern Warren County Food Pantry after 9 a.m. on Nov. 21.

In addition to these collection points, there are several schools and churches in the area including Marthasville Elementary, St. Ignatius, and St. Paul’s UCC, who are hosting food drives. The donations are all going to local food pantries.
