Leslie "Sonny" Harold Heidbrink

Mr. Leslie Harold Heidbrink, 76, fondly known as "Sonny", of Warrenton, passed away on Friday, Feb. 7, 2020. Leslie was born in Warren County, to the late Harold John Heidbrink and Mildred Iva Lovenia (nee: Blake) Eckert, on November 13, 1943.
Leslie proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was last stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia. During his time of service he received the Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device 1960, Overseas Bar and Expert (Rifle M-14). Leslie was married to Barbara Gale Davis on July 24, 1965. They recently celebrated 54 years together. To this union, one child was born, Deborah. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for over 50 years. He and Barbara were members of the Warrenton Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Leslie enjoyed woodworking and being outdoors, whether it be for work or for fishing. He was also very mechanically inclined. Leslie was a member of the American Legion in Wentzville.
Leslie Heidbrink was preceded in death by his parents; Harold Heidbrink and Mildred Eckert and his mother-in-law and father in law, Marion and Florence Davis. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; one daughter Deborah and husband Ivan D Sarles; one sister; Lorraine "Punkey" Boes and husband George; four brothers-in-law; Darrel Davis and wife Marie, Dale R. Davis, Wayne R. Davis, and Kenneth L. Davis; several nieces, nephews; many other family member and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2020, at Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton, 4-8 p.m. An additional visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 13, at Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton, from 9-11 a.m.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 13, also at the funeral home, at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at the Warrenton City Cemetery with full Military Honors.
Memorial donations for Leslie are preferred to the American Cancer Society, c/o Martin Funeral Home, 510 East Main Street, Warrenton, Mo. 63383. Memorials may also be made to the donors choice.
