During the Feb. 15 meeting, the Wright City R-II board of education received an update about a touch free sink at East Elementary School.
“It doesn’t work, it’s just that simple,” Superintendent Dr. Christopher Berger said. “But they did wind up ordering parts for it.”
Those parts, however, didn’t fix the issue, so the contractor will now remove the sink and put in a new unit.
“I would anticipate that to be buttoned up for the March board meeting,” Berger said.
The four-room addition to East has been in use since Christmas break, Berger said, but he did note there are still some issues that need to be addressed before work on that project can be considered complete.
“There are about six items. None of them are huge items,” he said. “But some of those, to be such small items, have lingered. And so we’ve not been pleased with the close out of the four room addition, but I think it’s going to come together sooner than later. And, no doubt, whenever it is all done, we’ll be very happy with the product.”
