Two St. Louis residents were arrested for a series of car break-ins in Warrenton in the early morning of May 8.

Officers were dispacted to the area of Villa Duchesne Drive and Chantilly Court around 2 a.m. for reports of a suspicious vehicle and individuals attempting to break into several vehicles in the area.

Patrolman Zackary Gerholdt first located the vehicle and activated his emergency lights at which point the suspects struck Gerholdt's vehicle head on before fleeing the scene and colliding with Corporal Robert Parkinson's patrol car at the intersection of Ville Duchesne Drive and Chantilly Court.

The suspects then fled the scene andbegan traveling east on Interstate 70 where their vehicle was stopped by spike strips in Lake St. Louis. They came to a stop on eastbound I-70 and fled on foot, according to a probable cause statement.

Police confirmed their vehicle was stolen.

The suspects were apprehended by the O'Fallon Police Department using a drone and two K-9 officers in a nearby apartment complex. Near the vehicle, officers found a handgun that had also been reported as stolen by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.

Jay'Vion Williams of St. Louis was arrested on charges of the delivery of a controlled substance, three counts of tampering with a motor vehicle and one count of resisting arrest.

David Wright of St. Louis was charged with two counts of assault in the first degree, four charges of tampering with a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of a firearm and property damage.

A third suspect was a juvenile and was not named.

During a search of the vehicle, officers found 38 pills containing a white powdery substance they suspected was Fentanyl and $309 in cash. Arresting officers found these items to be consistent with the sale of narcotics.

Officer Gerholdt conducted a follow-up in the area of Chantilly Court and found three vehicles that had been illegally accessed and searched by the suspects, according to the probable cause statement.
